...walking down Memory Lane...

I am walking down 'Memory Lane'.

No, actually I'm walking along Marine Drive in Mumbai...

Only that is was some time ago.

And what a walk!

On a hot, humid day (which means it could've been almost any day..) I took a stroll, from our hotel, down to Chowpatty Beach.

The real name is Girgaum Chaupati where Girgaum is the area and Chaupati means four channels or four creeks.

Marine Drive follows the sweeping curve of sea; streches from Nariman Point's highrise buildings to Chowpatty Beach which is located at the foot of Malabar Hill.

If you start from Nariman Point and walk the entire promenade to Chowpatty it's a distance of some 3 km, about 2 miles.

I took mine ( the walk, of course) in broad daylight.

In the month of may.

In the pleasurable temperature of around 35 degrees.

Celsius.

Stepping out from the freezing, airconditioned lobby at the hotel, it actually was a pleasure.

For about 5 minutes, maybe even six...

I must have lost, at least, 3 kg during my two hour 'walkabout'.

Sadly not from the excercise though...

Sweating profusely for some hours apparently also has the same effect!

So, after rehydrating with loads of water everything went back to normal...

It was the walk it self, along with all the impressions, that was the pleasure!

All the colors.

All the bright fabrics the Indian womens dailywear are made of.

The streetchildrens play and washing of their clothes, in the water.

The 'kulfi wallah' (icecream vendor).

The use of the playground toys for drying newly washed items...

Sitting on the beach, just relaxing, watching, enjoying... And taking photos :)!

Fancy an icecream, someone? I said "No thank you, maybe next time..".

Only streetkids, with no other options for bathing and washing water, goes in. It's (what a shame!) really dirty.

Not often you see people of opposite sex' standing so close, touching, being affectionate with each other.

Multipurpose use of the playground toys...

Again, the colors! Love, love, love it!

Härliga färger på deras kläder, kontrasten mot havet är jättebra. Det behöver vi se nu när vädret är såå trist.
Det var lite skillnad på färger om man jämnför det inlägget jag själv gjorde nyligen på bloggen från min tid i Kashmir, där är kläderna lika grå som vädret här hemma haha
Har gjort ännu ett försök med att få med din uppdatering, håll tummarna att det fungerar nu!
